Improving the quality of life for women and girls in Waukesha County

MEET NICOLE WAGNER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Nicole Wagner joined the Women and Girls Fund in January 2023. She has spent her career in the nonprofit arena and is particularly passionate about serving the Waukesha County community. She is personally committed to issues impacting women and girls and firmly believes that empowering woman and girls is a crucial way to improve our community. Nicole worked at Make-A-Wish Wisconsin for more than 16 years, most of that time was spent leading Mission Delivery. She oversaw all aspects of program execution and has extensive experience in wish delivery, budgets, volunteer management and medical outreach. Additionally, Nicole has worked for United Way of Waukesha County and the Mental Health Association of Waukesha County.

Nicole lives in Waukesha with her husband Luke who has lived in Waukesha County his entire life. They have three children, Hannah, Eli and Jonah who are very active in school and activities in the Waukesha community.

The Executive Committee is responsible for personnel issues and any board activity that requires quick action.

Finance

The Finance Committee oversees and manages the financial aspects of the organization to ensure sound financial management, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations.

Fund Development

The Fund Development Committee plans, implements and monitors fundraising activity. This includes identifying potential donors, developing plans to cultivate their interest, soliciting prospects using various methods, and reviewing activity and results. The committee works closely with the marketing committee to build awareness of the Fund.

Grants

The Grants Committee evaluates requests received from nonprofit organizations seeking support from the Women and Girls Fund unrestricted endowment funds. The Committee determines which proposals and grant amounts to recommend to the WGF Board of Directors for approval.

Marketing

The Marketing Committee plans and implements strategies for attracting support to the Women and Girls Fund. This includes promotional materials, events and media relations. Committee members lend expertise and advice to staff for planning and implementation of activities.

Women of Distinction

The Women of Distinction Event Committee is responsible for the successful facilitation of the annual event. It is comprised of various subcommittee Chairs and Vice Chairs to ensure fundraising and grant award goals are met, and further ensures positive positioning of the Women and Girls Fund to the community.

Community Council

Members of the Community Council committee serve as ambassadors and champions of the Women and Girls Fund. Together, they secure input from women connected to the mission. The committee works to create opportunities for members to meet and receive updated information about the status of the Women and Girls Fund. Members serve as advisors on issues and activities related to women and girls in the community.
